Presentation Night and Nick’s Update
Robert LowndesPresentation Night – Saturday 18th June
Our presentation night will be at the Mosman Club starting at 6:30 for 7:00pm.
Please come and celebrate the 2015/16 season. Our thanks to to Zhik and NB Sail Sports for sponsoring the club and providing prizes. The cost is $50 please book your place soon by return email, so we can plan the numbers. Payment to our new Macquarie bank account BSB: 182-512, Acct. No: 963678206.
Davit Crane Installation
The davit crane has now been lifted into place, photos on the website and Facebook. Thank you to every one who worked on installing the steel work and helped with the club cleanup. The club boat now needs lifting points and harness and a cradle on the deck. Middle Harbour Yacht Club also helped us keeping our club boat on their marina.
Committee Roles
Our thanks to Steve Urwin,Treasurer and Secretary this season. Steve is stepping down and Jonathan Brown has volunteered to take on the Treasurer and Public Officer roles. Chris Kelleway has taken on Club Secretary role in the short term.
We will call for nominations for committee positions in August and the AGM will be on 11 September.
Education
We are planning a number education events next season. Early in the season Rob will conduct a race officer seminar and Chris will organise a boat licence seminar and on the water club boat practice sessions. It is important for both safety and race organisation that every one can confidently operate the club boat, lay marks and run races. Over the season we hope to line up more group coaching sessions.
NSW Government Sports Grant
More good news, our application for a sports grant of $5,000 to help renovate the kitchen has been accepted and we have 18 months to complete the project.
Thank you to everyone for making the last season a success and for your contributions to working bees. We hope to see you at the presentation night.
And our congratulations to members who went to the Worlds making us the ” best little Laser Club on the planet“.
