MHASC Radial Club Champion and two times World Masters Champion, Jeff Loosemore firmed as hot favourite to win his third World Championship in June at Nuevo Nayarit (formerly known as Nuevo Vallarta) in Mexico in June.  Just last week Jeff, a Great Grand Master, cleaned up all age groups in a very competitive fleet at the annual South Pacific Laser Masters Championship at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

Other MHASC members also performed well with new member Vai Ripley winning the Apprentice Masters (7th overall) and Lew Verdon coming 2nd in the Legends (11th overall).  After Jeff in the Great Grand Masters division were Lyndall Patterson 3rd (8th overall) and Rob Lowndes 4th (13th overall).  Click here for the full results.

Jeff and Rob will be representing the club at the Mexico Radial (ILCA 6) Worlds from 9 to 17th June.  Jeff and fellow club member Nick Alexander will also be sailing in the Standard Rig (ILCA 7) Worlds starting beforehand on 30 May.

The above photo shows Jeff and Rob finishing race 1 at SPLM on Friday 29 May followed by runner up Danny Fuller.  RQTV.com.au may show some of the many terrific photos taken at SPLM but they were not available at the time of this post.  Click here for a good video showing the start and segments of race 5 on Sunday 1 May, starting at the 31.45minute mark after the Hobie footage.
