Jeff scored an outstanding 9 wins and 3 seconds in the 12 races. This is Jeff’s third masters world title having won in the same division in 2019 at Port Zélande, The Netherlands and in the Apprentice Masters (35 to 44yo) division way back in 1988 at Falmouth, UK.
Jeff was one of three club members competing in Mexico. Rob Lowndes in his last year as a GGM came 8th. And Nick Alexander sailed in the preceding ILCA 7 Worlds at the same venue (as did Jeff), also finishing 8th in his Masters (45 to 54yo) division.
Racing was close:
Club Commodore, Graham Jennings congratulated Jeff on his win. “We know you had hot competition including from Rob who himself won the same title at the same venue in 2016 – the same event where Vanessa also won the GM World Championship.
This is a great achievement after your 2019 win and confirms what a champion dinghy sailor you really are.
It was also a great effort by Rob and Nick and we are proud of them as well.”
